Kwido wins Aging 2.0 Global Startup Search

 June 6, 2016

We are delighted to announce that Kwido has won the Aging2.0 Global Startup Search which took place on the 2nd of June in Barcelona.

The mission of Aging2.0 is to select the world’s best startup focused on themes related to aging.

Kwido has been chosen as the best project by a Spanish startup at an event which exceeded the organization’s expectations in terms of the number of registered attendees. It received the award before a selected audience made up of established companies that target their products at the elderly, companies from the elderly care sector and local and international investors

In this competition, Kwido was judged by the organization as the most innovative project in Spain aimed at improving the quality of life of elderly people through new technologies, thus rewarding our innovative business model and our wide experience.

At Aging 2.0 Barcelona, the jury was made up of a select group of professionals including Stephen Johnston, co-founder of Aging2.0, Andreu Huget Llull, managing director of business development and support areas at SARquavitae, Antonio González Barros, president and founder of the Intercom Group, Josep de Martí, director of InfoResidencias o Xose Xavier Rodríguez, head of National Coordination for Call Centres at Tunstall Televida.

Thanks to this award we will be presenting Kwido to an audience of over 1,000 attendees at the international event Aging 2.0 OPTIMIZE which will take place on October 12 and 13 in San Francisco, California.

Aging2.0 is a global innovation platform focused on aging and elderly care led by a top team of professionals. Headquartered in San Francisco, California, its network of offices spreads from Australia to Brazil via Europe and Asia. Its mission is to drive innovation to improve the lives of the elderly across the world. In this context it is a great honour for Kwido to be the Spanish winner.

These were the characteristics that the jury highlighted when declaring Kwido the winner:

  • Kwido can be used on multiple devices, it includes web management functions for professionals, a mobile application for carers and patients and even a tablet application for the elderly who have never used new technologies.

  • Kwido is a well-built platform: together all Kwido’s functions create a system that meets quality, safety, privacy and accessibility standards.

  • Kwido is not a closed commercial product .It can be used in an “own brand” model offering the basis of a stable and successful platform on which only those functions that each organization needs can be used: phone consultation, messaging, health monitoring, medicine-taking control, videoconference use, calendar, sharing medical information, hiring services from a mobile phone, etc.

  • Multiple applications: thanks to all these characteristics, Kwido can form the basis for a product for clinics, insurance providers, the pharmaceutical sector, etc. This saves organizations money as they do not have to design a new application from scratch and furthermore, they benefit from the fact that Kwido adds made-to-measure functions. The result is a personalised application for each organization, even with its own name, styles and brand, independent from Kwido.

For all these reasons, Kwido will represent Spain at the final presentation of Aging 2.0 OPTIMIZE in October

See you in San Francisco!!
