Kwido among the most important Aging 2.0 startups in the world

Kwido was selected as the leading Spanish aging and technology company at an event held in June 2016 in Barcelona by the organisation Aging2.0

Aging 2.0 is a global innovation platform focused on aging and elderly care led by a remarkable team of professionals based in San Francisco, California and with numerous locations spanning Australia, Brazil, Europe and Asia, its mission being to drive innovation to improve the lives of elderly people around the world.

During Optimize Aging 2.0, which took place from 11-14 October in San Francisco, California, Iñaki Bartolomé, as CEO of Kwido, had the opportunity to discover the biggest innovations, as well as publicising Kwido worldwide.

In fact, some of the main new features from Kwido were presented there, which we have highlighted below:

• Tracking of physical activity using Smartphones.
• Big data & machine learning for patient and lifestyle habits analysis
• Analysis of emotions through facial recognition to detect possible depression.
• Messaging system among doctors, patients and caregivers.
• Autonomous cognitive stimulation system with cognitive self-detection.

At this event, we were able to see that Kwido is, on its own merits, one of the main elderly care products in the world.

And we were also able observe the main trends appearing in this sector. We were able to see, for example:

• How the socialisation of elderly people through new technologies has a direct impact on their health and state of mind.
• Use of fingerprint analysis to analyse the risk of a heart attack.
• Use of lamps to analyse behaviour in people with cognitive impairment.
• Offering online tools for training and quality of home treatment.
• Playing with touch screens and even virtual reality glasses to combat cognitive impairment.
• Requesting Uber style transport adapted to the elderly.
• Preparing homes for a REAL life that are connected to the outside with new technologies.
• Interacting with robots for better care at home.
• Highlighting that almost 85{42375b4e2714ef72c5fc4d7e676c7408210af5bccbc5374aabaa9644cd347cc8} of elderly people with dementia can be treated at home.
• Noting that neither homes nor hospitals will be able to meet demand with current care methods, given the demographic outlook of the most developed countries
