The Extended Day Care Centre Model Grows in Biscay Region

by Lorena

A few months ago, we shared how the innovative “extended day care centres” model, etxeTIC, promoted by the Provincial Council of Bizkaia, was continuing to grow and bring a new form of care into people’s homes.

Today, we are pleased to announce that this model is not only expanding, but also settling in and maturing, proving its value and effectiveness with tangible results.

This progress is a reflection of a strategic alliance that continues to bear fruit: the union of Kwido’s cutting-edge technology with the care excellence of IMQ Igurco.

EtxeTIC caso de exito

Bilbao: The Confirmation of a Success Story That Cares for Over 400 People

The heart of the etxeTIC project, our pioneering and largest centre in Etxaniz (Bilbao), remains more active than ever. In fact, we can announce that, after four years of uninterrupted service and positive results, we have renewed our contract to continue providing our services for the coming years.

For us, this renewal is a validation of a model that works. It represents the trust placed in us by a range of institutions and, above all, by the more than 400 users and their families who, day after day, we help to care for in the comfort and safety of their own homes.

Through Kwido’s accessible technology, such as personalised tablets, and the close monitoring of IMQ Igurco’s professionals, we have created a proactive care ecosystem that improves quality of life, combats loneliness and promotes autonomy.

The success in Bilbao is the pillar on which we are building our international future.

Mungia Joins the etxeTIC Care Network

The momentum generated by these positive results allows us to continue bringing the etxeTIC model to more corners of Bizkaia. It is with great satisfaction that we also announce the opening of a new extended day care centre in the town of Mungia.

This new opening joins the existing network and responds to the growing demand for care solutions that allow elderly people to age in their own environment in the best possible way.

With each new centre, we not only expand our geographical coverage, but also enrich the project with new experiences and lessons learned, ensuring that the model adapts to the specific characteristics of each region.

The Alliance with Service Providers: The Key to this Success

None of these milestones would be possible without the perfect symbiosis between technology and human service that defines our collaboration with IMQ Igurco.

While Kwido provides the technological platform, artificial intelligence and the tools that make connected and proactive care possible, IMQ Igurco deploys its knowledge and experience in the care of the elderly, designing care plans in the technological solution, carrying out professional monitoring and providing the essential human touch.

This alliance shows that the future of care is not about choosing between technology and personalised attention, but about integrating them intelligently to create a model that is more efficient, sustainable and, above all, more person-centred.

Looking ahead, the renewal in Bilbao and the new opening in Mungia reaffirm our commitment. We will continue to work to consolidate and expand a model that is already a benchmark in 21st-century home care.
