The 7th edition of AgeTech Market Map led by Keren Etkin, of

AgeTech Market Map has been published, putting the global ageing and technology sector on a market map, with almost 300 companies.

Here are some highlights:

  • In 2024, people can expect to live into their 80s, 90s or even 100s and enjoy more healthy and active years after retirement. This shift creates new opportunities for employers to develop offerings that enable older adults to live their best life after leaving the labour market.
  • Life expectancy is increasing while the birth rate is decreasing, leading to a demographic shift. In some countries, people over 65 will soon outnumber people under 18.
  • Older adults have significant economic power. By 2030, the over-50s are expected to contribute $65 trillion to global GDP, representing 36 per cent of the total.
  • Most older adults prefer to age in place, meaning that they want to live in their homes of choice for the rest of their lives. Ageing in place is defined as “the ability to live in one’s own home and community safely, independently and comfortably, regardless of age, income or level of ability”.

This can become increasingly difficult as people age, especially with limited paid or family support. Technology can help overcome these challenges and complement human care.

And this is where Kwido stands out, in the field of home care service provider companies.

For Kwido it is a further step in its international recognition to be part of this global AgeTech map.
